Please read the following information carefully and follow all guidelines. We want the City of Fenton to prevent a new Petland store from opening and to spread awareness about inhumane treatment of animals by puppy mills and the pet store industry, and the impact of these practices upon consumers, employees, and the safety and welfare within our communities. Our protest will alert area residents, local and state government officials of the grave circumstances which exist at other Petland stores due to inhumane breeding and health and safety practices. Obstacles relative to timing and current government laws may prove insurmountable, however this protest will send out a clear message that we refuse to give up and will continue to pressure the State of Missouri to enact legislation which will end the puppy mill industry and forever close the doors of stores like Petland. The following instructions have been developed after thorough review of our cause, audience, goals, similar protests, and a careful review of laws and best practices for similar initiatives. We want to ensure that this protest is legal, safe, informative, and that we send the message that people need to hear. Instructions for Protesters
